All about me
Hi my name is Bob and I have been a fan of comicbooks ever since I was a wee lad. They helped me improve my reading, develop a love for drawing and opened my eyes to a world of imagination and wonder. Because I love comicbooks I always wanted to talk to people about them, but they just didn't get it. As high school approached I quickly found that not many people where I lived like comics or people talking about them, so I did the cowardly thing and stopped collecting. I got serious about comics and collecting once I was able to obtain steady employment over 15 years ago. Since that time I have gone through many stages of companies that I read. I went from a Marvel only reader to more DC to finally figuring out they can co-exist with each other. I follwed Image when they started up and realized that I didn't have to read books based on companies, rather on the stories the creators had to tell. That is when my love for Independent comics took off. I am quite open to giving books a shot regardless if they come from the biggest companies to the smallest. Color or black and white it doesn't matter. If you hook me I will be a loyal fan of companies, writers, artists etc. More recently I have found the joys of collecting original art or paged art. Every year I make the trek to the Pittsburgh Comicon where I get to meet great people, try out new companies and spend a butt load of money on my comicbook addiction. Hey the way I figure, this addiction is safer than drugs!! I have been involved at many comicbook sites/boards for the past 8 years. From the early days of the Wizard Universe board to the now defunct Comicbook Collector board. I had a site at Hostboard for a while and then I started a site at Ezboard. While this is not my original site there, I have had this site Beddys Place for 6 years!! So that is about me, now I want to hear about you! My Site Beddys Place is a board to talk about comicbooks, the world of horror, fantasy and many general entertainment forums. I moderate the Comic Shoppe forum at TheXDream a board devoted to everything Xmen and so much more.
