May 17th
Saturday's meeting will be our own cartoon pitch challenge!
Each member will come up with at an idea for an animated program, design the main character(s) and storyboard the intro (between 4 and 10 panels).

June-
Next meeting we'll bring our finished designs, ideas, and storyboards........then, form groups...teaming-up to complete the same challenge, but all DURING THE MEETING!
July-
We'll have our SCULPEY workshop! : based on the characters we created for the pitch competition, we'll create sculptures of our main characters. Working either in a group or individually.
Aug-
Book-making workshop! :We'll take the same characters (now very familiar), and make accordion fold books with hard-back covers (I'll show you how). These books will be either very short stories or serve as a series "bible" for the proposed cartoon (concisely explaining/showing the show's main features).
Sept-
Art Challenge! : We'll each bring in photos of people, places and things....swap with others...and then turn the photos into cartoons that work together.

The Baton Rouge Cartoonist Society is once again partnering with the Red Stick International Animation Festival. The BRCS will be instructing the annual childrens art workshop and providing the art for the annual Red Stick Coloring Book.

All art for the 08 & 2009 animation festivals, (posters, promotions, t-shirts and badges) is being provided by BRCS Founder & President Erik Van Buren.
