Templar, Arizona is coming to print! Click here to order your copy!

Sometimes I draw things.

Templar, Arizona is the story of a city, and the people who live there.

Sparkneedle is experimental, wordless, and full of nudity, violence, and religion.

Blikada is about alien hillbillies in something that looks a little bit like Czarist Russia, but not quite.

And Playing with Dolls is just stupid, and you shouldn't read it at all.

Sometimes I say things.

Blog. It's syndicated on Livejournal.
Forum.
MySpace.

Sometimes I decide things.

I do, in fact, visit the profiles of everyone who "friends" me on ComicSpace before I friend them back. If I chose not to do so, I probably had a good reason. Good reasons include, but are not limited to: Missions to friend everyone on the entire damned site, people with totally unrelated interests, puppet accounts, promotional accounts that consist entirely of ad copy, the accounts of fictional characters that fail to be sufficiently amusing, and accounts with no personal information.

The chances that I won't friend you back increase about a thousandfold if your invitation arrives without any sort of personalized message.

FYI.

Lucas & Odessa Jump to External Web Site

My first big break in webcomics was a series on Girlamatic, called Lucas & Odessa. Templar, Arizona eventually conquered all, though, and L+O remains unfinished to this day. These are the first twelve pages of that comic.

Abraham Todd Jump to External Web Site

Back in 2004-2005, I made these comics for Tastes Like Chicken magazine and a few other outfits. Abe Todd is a normal guy, who happens to attract paranormalcy like a magnet. Nobody liked it.

Gazelle Jump to External Web Site

Nature is unkind. A stick-figure comic of astonishingly low quality, originally drawn as a filler strip for my now-defunct Girlamatic.com strip, Lucas & Odessa.

Spike, I saw you at the Con back in august, but I had met you in San Diego back in 05! We walked down the gaslight district with Tony Akins chatting about the furry people community and other related topics, lol. Anyway I don't know if you remember me but hopefully I'll see you again in Chicago sometime, take care!

Thanks for the add!

I'm a really big fan of Templar Arizona. It's wonderful to find a comic with great art *and* a facisnating plot line!

I also really like the two comics you've got here at ComicSpace too.

Thank you for adding me. I found you through The Ormes Society and have literally been eating up Templar, Arizona. I absolutely friggin' LOVE it. An Asian with a Polish name...Now, that's DIVERSITY!

Congrats on the Glyphs Awards nominations, BTW! :)

Hi,

I just started reading Templar and I like what I see. I'm not sure that I share your choice of sandwiches though. I used to work in a frozen waffle factory you see...

Actually there's nothing especially gross in them. The smell just reminds me of that experience and I'd rather not be.

Your characters really come alive. I especially appreciate Zora and the way she interacted with Gene. Nice work.

Don't get Yo Punk Ass in trouble then, girl!

Thanks for the updates! I've been following for a while now. I even saw it on Publisher's Weekly, THE BEAT, by Heidi McDonald. Plenty of folks are in your corner!

Spike you should have no prob getting a publisher, Damn sweet art! I can totally appreciate your art and the effort it took. Great stuff mujer! Oh ty 4 d add!

[ Posted by Samdegraff on Jan 7th, 2007 6:43 AM ]...

Thanks for the add. So I went to one of the links you provided yto check out your stuff. And I start reading the comic of arizona. and I first thought, ok... decent line work. Not sure of the style though... And then I noticed I had read 15 or so pages? and had been totally engrossed in a story about people who should have been uninteresting, doing ordinary things... HOW THE HELL DID YOU DO THAT?! I swear, I was completely swept up in it. Damnedest thing. you have a gift of making the ordinary something brilliant.
Normally If I like something I just say "I liked your work" or something. But I felt like I should go into more depth with this one, concidering.
