I'm an aspiring comics professional, and graduate of the Minneapolis College Of Art And Design. I have an online gallery featuring some of my work at KateWillaert.com, and a geek-blog on Livejournal. While I ultimately ended up majoring in Graphic Design, my original reason for choosing MCAD was their active Comic Art program, which I took advantage of by filling up as many of my electives as I could manage with comic-related cources. I was taught digital coloring by Brian Haberlin of Avalon Studios, and lettering by J.G. Roshell and Richard Starkings of Comicraft. In the days before college, I spent several years working at the local comics & collectibles store as their resident "comic expert," in charge of the pull boxes, jotting down the weekly counts, giving input into the monthly Diamond orders, etc. The only aspects of the industry I don't have any knowledge or experience in is probably production and publishing (yet ;-)). On the intarweb, I'm the creator and co-founder (with current maintainer Eddy Choi) of the Art Of Jim Lee and Art Of Travis Charest fansites. I'm also in the process of developing a couple non-fansite comic-related sites (coming soon, hopefully).

Excellent work up on your website. Looks like there is a ton of talent up in the Madison area. I'll be moving there in a month or so, maybe I can count myself among you.
