Also, spammers seem to have the ability to make “site wide posts” on the front page, but I do not.
Your original post about taking back the site is also on the front page (at least until enough spam has been posted to move it out of the main page), so you are making site wide posts.

Write what you want to read.
Comment on what others have written.This site should be cool, so let’s take it back.
Some of us are working on it, but could you get someone to do something actively remove the spammers from the database? Perhaps have some moderators for this specific purpose, who can delete posts and spammer accounts? It would be a tremendous help in taking back the site.
